Get Spooky with Truprint this Halloween

Rachael is guesting on our blog this week – she is giving us Halloween photo gift ideas and talking about how to get our Halloween parties as spooky and fun as they can be, with a little help from us.

What is the best way to spend Halloween?

Well, painting the town blood-red with an army of duvet-clad ghosts and tipsy witches is undeniably a good way to go, but I think we can do a little better than that.

This year, we bring the party to you with a little help from Truprint’s great products. After you’ve used Truprint’s Halloween photo gifts, cards and invites to get everyone in the mood, I’ve got a few suggestions for making that party work perfectly.

Home Décor

So your house is the location of choice for the revelry.

Before the walls get inevitably doused with all manner of Halloween cocktails, spend a little time dressing them to create the perfect spooky scene.

For my party, I have created criminal mugshots of the guests and hung them around the place.

These provide not only an eerie ambience, but also an easy talking point for the always-awkward first hour of the party.

To ensure your guests consent to the pictures beforehand, perhaps you could tell them they are part of an art project; just like I did 😉

Not that white-lying is to be condoned, of course!

The mugshots look perfect on Truprint’s canvases. You could even give each guest a mug with their mug on it as a keepsake as well.

Creepy Cocktails

Now your guests will probably expect to wet their whistle shortly after arriving. Here are two of my personal favourite non-alcoholic Halloween cocktails that will delight young and old (a plastic spider in the bottom of each glass is optional)

Zombie Spit

  • Lime juice
  • Lemonade
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Milk
  • Fruit, for garnish

  1. Blend the ice cream and the milk to create a thick, foamy liquid.
  2. Pour the lime juice and lemonade into a glass and top off with the mixture.
  3. Finish with sliced fruit garnish.

Dragon’s Blood

Strawberry cordial

Plain yoghurt

Mint leaves

2 cherries, for garnish

  1. Add the cordial and the water to blender (at desired strength) with plenty of plain yoghurt until the mixture is thick and creamy.
  2. Pour into glass and top off with mint leaves and cherries.

I will let you in on a secret; you could probably get away with simply making your favourite cocktails and giving them vaguely spooky-sounding names if you really wanted to.

No one would blame you.

Trick or Treating

Forgive me for assuming, but you may be a tad too old to be going door-to-door collecting candy from the neighbours. However, I bet your children still love doing this, and I am sure you’ll be dragged around those streets whether you like it or not 😉

You can still get into the “spirit” as well. Why not set up a tasty-treasure hunt so your guests can relive the childhood excitement of a sickly Halloween sugar rush without hounding the locals?

For my party, I will hide the treats in all manner of places; from shoes to garden plants!

Let’s just hope I don’t forget said locations, and have the sticky residue to contend with years down the line.

So you’ve now got everything, you need to host the perfect Halloween party.

Oh, except for your costume, of course. Though to be honest, when your hosting is on-point, you could probably get away with anything.

Last-minute duvet ghost it is!
