I know you are going to be wonderful at this one. It should give you plenty of scope for creativity.
Before we give you some advice on what to do to take great silhouette photos, lets share with you some of the best photos we had for last month’s challenge; Special effects.
We had less entries than usual on this one, which is no surprise, as it isn’t an easy thing to do. It is a tough ask creating a photograph that offers something mysterious to its viewers.
Of the pictures we saw, we have picked the three we enjoyed the most.
Joy is a regular on our Facebook page, and always thinks of original ideas for the photography themes that we have. This photograph of her daughter, while zooming out as she takes the picture, is a great example of what can be done with just a simple change to your photography technique. The colours are awesome too.
Mary has been a bit clever with her editing skills here; turning one of her floral pictures into rather a gorgeous flower orb.
Finally, Niamh has shown us all just what you can do using a bit of long exposure trickery on your pictures.
Because we don’t like to strain your brains too much, our monthly theme is a little easier this time around.
To help capture those Silhouette photos, you might want to check out some of these great resources:
- My go to resource of choice for photography is the Digital Photography School website, and they have an excellent tutorial on creating the perfect silhouette photos,
- Improve Photography has 14 tips on shooting silhouette photos on their site too, and
- Finally, Click it up a Notch has 10 tips for taking great silhouette photos, alongside some rather stunning pictures too.
We hope that these all help you to take some great pictures this month, can’t wait to see them all!
