Photo Craft Ideas
Well here at Truprint, we have a few creative ways to help you make the most of our offer.
Make your own photo frame
Your photos are unique, so why not show them off in a one of a kind unique frame? Making your own personalised photo frame is easy and the best thing about it is you can style it to your taste, from whatever materials you want. If you are on a budget this is a great way of getting a stylish looking frame without breaking the bank.
As in the example above you could make your frame from some sturdy card, wrap it in a fabric of your choice and then simply jazz it up by gluing buttons and ribbons on it. This is a really good project to get the children involved in too if you are looking for some photo craft-filled fun together!
There are dozens of different ways you can make your own frame, from wooden shabby chic styles, box frames, giant wall collages (perfect for those Instagram snaps), lots more.
If you are looking for inspiration for your picture frames, Pinterest is a great place to start.
If you don’t fancy framing your photos then don’t worry, there are dozens of other stylish ways to show off your smiles.
You can create your own mini washing style line to hang your photos from with literally a piece of string, a couple of drawing pins and some pegs.
Other inventive ideas we seen from our customers include using glass jars on a shelf with your photos inside them and making your own shaped collage. To do this simply cut a shape out of cardboard, any shape of your choosing will work like a start or heart and then attaching your photos to the front in a collage fashion.
Let us know if you have any unusual ideas for displaying your photos and we may well feature them on an upcoming blog to help inspire fellow photographers!
The more the merrier
Why not create your own personalised photo gallery? Hanging large numbers of photos on the wall can be a striking way of showing off lots of photos, but this can be quite daunting. Nobody wants to end up with holes all over the walls, so here are some good tips to help you get it right first time;
- 1. Plan the layout before you hang the photos. A good way of doing this is to get some paper sheets and cut them to the same size as your frames, and then hang them on the wall with some masking tape until you are happy with the layout. Once you are happy with the arrangement, you can hammer the nail straight through the paper and hang your photos….easy!
- 2. Make sure you pay attention to groupings, i.e. if you are using a mix of old black and white photos and colour ones, then keeping them separated can help tell a story and create a great timeless look.
- 3. Choose your frame style before hanging your photos. It may be that you want all of your frames to be exactly the same, a complete mix of colours or all the same colour but different styles.Whatever style you go for it’s a good idea to put the photos in the frame and lay them out on the floor before hanging them. This way you can check all of the photos work together and that they don’t clash before you hang them, take them down, swap them about and rehang them again!
So there you have it, hopefully we have given you some great tips to get you showing off your photos, remember our great ‘buy one get one free’ offer is valid until 22nd March.
If you have any other great ideas let us know and we can feature them on a future post.
